Wingnut Wings Camel marking
« on: July 03, 2016, 12:54:32 AM »

H.G. Watson's 4 AFC ride. Any word on the other options? I can see a multi-marking issue, like the Pup: RFC/RNAS/Allied

Tom,
If that's the Summer of 2016 issue of Windsock, mine has Canadian William Barker's B6313 of 139 Sqn. illustrated. I agree, I can definitely see several other versions on the horizon; hopefully some RNAS Western Front markings and a 2F.1 Ships version at least!
Cheers,
Lance

Yes, it's definitely interesting to see an F.1 Camel in the late July markings of Barker shown in the WNW advert.  The same edition of Windsock also contains a feature on the Sopwith Camel in its Great War Paint series, with three pages of very tasty full-colour artwork by Arvo Vercamer.

Best wishes
Nigel

RNAS 2F.1 sounds pretty good to me.

I am hoping for colourful versions, as I am not much interested in and mostly ignorant of fighter aces.

Personally I hope for at least one version with Markings for 43Sq. A long shot would be a USAS LeRhone powered version with markings for the 185th Aero Sq.

My guess is that this first issue will have the usual 5 different markings, we already have Barker (Canadian), Cobby (Aussie), KIWI (Watson) maybe a Brit (Woollett, Rochford,...) , American ( Vaugh, Springs...) and then maybe a Scot, Irish or South African to round it out.

Of course later issues could contain other markings of Aces from each of the Countries that used the Camel.

Hm. Not today. "Technical difficulties" instead....

edit: btw, WNW's homepage still shows the "expected late in 2016" text!

Give me Naval 10!  :)
I'm looking forward to parting with my cash on this one.

No, I am quite sure that WnW will come up with something unexpected when we least expect it. Like they always did.
