1/32 Model T fuel truck
« on: August 13, 2015, 01:54:52 PM »
I needed a little break from the Canuck project ( I'm resin casting the wings and I'm not happy yet.) I finished up this little Model T to go with the Canuck in a diorama. My main gripe with kit manufacturers is that they all, regardless of scale, oversimplify the suspension and chassis components of Model T Fords. So, we scratch-build! The Airfix  front fenders were all I could use from their excellent kit. Everything else was scratched from Evergreen Styrene, brass, aluminum, bass wood, Slide glass windshield and home brewed resin castings. I re mastered one of the Airfix wheels with added details, made RTV mold and cast them in resin. This one was lots of fun. Thanks for looking
Pietro

Also, I soldered up the radiator from brass and added a tiny Ford emblem from A Model Car Garage PE set.

What an absolute gem Pietro, this is a great looking Model T and you have done a superb job with the scratch building, the fuel drum and pump are excellent, it appears that there is no end to your talents.

Des, George, Bob, Alain, Edo, thank you all for your kind words. Yes, it's for a planned diorama featuring the Canuck. Several pictures off the "net" provided inspiration. Pietro

  Pietro,
Outstanding Model T gas truck my friend. As I have come to expect from your projects Master Class work. Well Done. I'm glad you could use as mush as you did of the Airfix Model T. I couldn't agree more it's an excellent little put it needs a little TLC to become a true show piece.
Highest Regards,
