Hello to all,
Nieuport 24 or 27 perhaps ?
It looks like 3D printing product, isn'it ?
Best regards.
Alain.

Thank you for your participation

Congratulation Bertl !
very quick and good answer : Morane type N

I started this project some months ago.
My challenge was to study the drawings basics in order to obtain 3d parts and laser cut wood parts.

Morane is les Casques de Cuir and Memorial Flight project

Hi Philippe,

Very nice 3D work. Also, the 3D printed parts are very clean and precise. Where and how are you getting the parts printed, if I may ask? I work with 3D using Maya and Rhino and am looking for a way to print parts that are as detailed as yours, but most places I've found can't do the quality and small detail I'm looking for. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
George

Hello george

I use Solidworks software and Shapeways Frosted Ultra Detail material.
It’s very interesting for the little parts but surface aspect is not as good as we will hope when we want large parts. So, for engine cowlings, I used Metallic Plastic Alumide Material.

For my model, I have used 3d parts to represent the real metal pieces and wood for the rest. Perhaps a completed model in Frosted would be interesting but in a smaller scale.

Thanks for your reply Philippe. I've been looking into Shapeways but wasn't sure about the quality of the fine detail. I think I'll give them a try based on your results.

A cool thing about Shapeways is that you can also make your model available for sale on their website. I'd buy yours if it were available.

Thanks,
George

I am always fascinated by the 3D printing technology and the different results I have seen, I will be following this build closely, what you have achieved so far looks very impressive.
