Martin Handyside 1911, 1:48 - Lindberg
« on: July 21, 2014, 07:41:46 PM »
Hello again,

High time for something from pioneer era of aviation! Could not have had better opportunity in 48 that re-edition of old Pyro models.
So Martin Handyside monoplane was the chosen one
INHO nothing special in terms of quality etc, just decent kit, which has to be modified to be able to act as “replica” on shelf
First in box:

started to work on the engine. In order to do sth similar to antoniette V8 had done several amendments
some steps below:

the fuselage is ready

have switched the oil shield as well

so time for wings structure implementation

ready for final paint layer

to be continued

Hello KryzsiekK

Good luck with the build and you've already made a fine start with the engine. I can't wait to see how things develop and what you make of a Lindberg kit. In all my years of model making I've never taken on anything by them.

Best wishes
Nigel

Nice one, K!  Really looking forward to this build.  I've got it in my stash, so I'm glad to see it being built here, especially by so talented a modeler.
Cheers,
Bud

ok, thanks for looking:)

Some little work on tail:

now the fuselage looks very cumbersome and it is hard to say that it was to be some kind of machine to reach the sky

The engine is done and will not be better than that:(

Nice work so far on this classic kit, I really love these pre-war types.

Nice work. Scratch built work with brass tube on the engine? I'm curious to see how the preshading on the tail comes out.

Looking pretty good so far, the wood on the fuselage is well done and the wing and tail shading is very effective, I'm looking forward to seeing the rigging fitted.
