Well, I had one of those "Fall into your lap" things happen, looks like a well produced kit with great colour schemes and decals!
. Hmmm... do I need to start a 1/48th subject soon? Regards, Marc

Great kit indeed, I just made three of them and have another one (I will make it on floats)... enjoy it!
Be careful because the decals on the starboard side of the fuselage are printed with inverted colors of the 4 aces: red for spades and clubs and black for hearts and diamonds

Yes ED and also Pheons Decals for 56 squadron and the resin engine Nacelle correction.. I really wanted to start the Meteor a long time ago but it has taken me a LONG time to acquire the PE.

PS: I have a Sabre 6 for JG71 Richthofen also.

It's here! The postman rang and held out the box - it's my glorious Aviattic Ansaldo A.1 'Balilla'. Thank you Richard.

It was bought as a present for my birthday last August. So

Happy birthday to me ( for last year)
Happy birthday to me
Happy birthday dear me
Happy birthday to me.

The only question now is where it fits into the pecking order. Finishing the big Hawker Typhoon and the mighty Hood are the priorities, and then must come Edgar's brilliant Caudron, plus an F.K. 8, then, then .... etc.

Oh to be half my age.

Best wishes
Nigel

Congratulations on the arrival of your Balilla Nigel, and a belated "last" Happy Birthday. It's heartening to know that my abode is not the only one with the age comment drifting about it's halls!
Cheers,

Thanks Lance. Ever sensitive to advancing years, I had a good sort through the stash the other and narrowly avoided categorising things as:

1. Did I really buy that?
2. Well that will never ever get built.
3. I'm happy just to admire the sprues and the instructions and maybe one day will start it.
3. I've started, but probably won't ever get to finish it.
4. I've started and all being well will complete it.
5. It's a new acqisition, classy and bound to push its way up the build queue.

Best wishes
Nigel
